you don't need to stay indoors during the evenings, just stick to well populated areas. as said before the more people there are the less visible the spiders will be. you are unlikely to come across spiders that you can see while walking around inner city sydney, brisbane or major towns (if you looked up into the trees you might see them, but in the dark you would have trouble). read more
