Brain aneurysms are commonly caused by high blood pressure, which in turn can result from heavy drinking. I could find no data on the “prevalence” of aneurysms among the alcoholic population but as 6% of all people in the US will have some sort of aneurysm in their lifetimes. read more

In most instances, the diagnosis of a brain aneurysm is made by CT scan and/or MRI imaging studies of the brain. These tests help identify and localize the brain aneurysm.
