Cuenca is definitely one of the safest cities in Ecuador. If you compare it to Guayaquil, my city, the difference in terms of security is huge. I went to Cuenta the past November and stayed for a complete week and what striked the most was how safe it was to walk around the city, specially in the touristic places. read more
