I live a half block below Division (high 50's) and the houses aren't as well kept as some of the other neighborhoods I've seen, but they're not crack houses, either. read more
The areas between SE 39th and ~SE 69 is more livable and quiet. The neighborhood west of 39th is certainly very nice, but its pretty congested with new apartment complexes shooting up seemingly monthly. The streets that surround SE Division is one of the more prime and visually stunning neighborhoods in SE Portland IMO. read more
North Portland is connected to the industrial area of Northwest Portland by the St. Johns Bridge, a 2,067 ft (630.0 m) long suspension bridge completed in 1931 and extensively rehabilitated in 2003-05. read more
Perfectly safe, especially if you're talking about the area around SE 21st to 24th or so. There's a fair amount of foot traffic around there because of the restaurants, New Seasons (a grocery store), Clinton Street Theater, and the like. Things get a bit rougher closer to SE Powell, but still not too worrisome. read more
