I mount the bat so the barrel will be closest to the headstock. I find it easier to turn this way and it seems to vibrate less but if you mount it with the barrel at the tailstock, most of th cuts are "downhill". Turn the blank into a cylinder making sure it's at least 2.75" along it's length. read more
