How to make an outline in google docs?

To turn on the outline tool: Select Tools. Click Document Outline. The outline tool will appear in the left hand panel of your Google Doc. To begin making your outline: Highlight the text you want to include in your outline, and make it bold. It will appear in your outline tool on the left hand panel. Google Docs will automatically add headings to the outline, but you can also add them manually. Open a document in Google Docs. Select the text you want to make a heading. On the toolbar styles menu, click Normal text. Click a heading style. The heading will be added to the outline. Note: Subtitles will not appear in the outline. read more
