If a nuke hit Los Angeles, how far would the fallout go?

Best Answers

How far the fallout would go depends on various factors, including wind direction, type of detonation (groundbursts produce lots of fallout,) & weapon size. An airburst is more likely. I don’t think Kim could nuke Los Angeles yet, but he might be able to as soon as 2018. read more

Depends on the size of the warhead, but generally speaking you're looking at a blast radius of 5-15 miles (anything within that radius would be decimated), the radiation released could easily affect everything in a 50 mile radius, and you also have to worry about the fallout -- which could travel east from L.A. for hundreds of miles depending on the jet stream. read more
