If you are born in the US and grow up there, you are a native American, with a lowercase n. Other, less confusing terms for this are native of the US, United States native, etc. read more
"Native American" is a misnomer. Native means born somewhere. Look it up. Definition of NATIVE I am a North Carolina native, thus am an American native. Since I have some American Indian blood, I am part "Native American". Sorry, but it is a bogus designation, and the Canadian designation of "First Nations" makes far more sense. read more
You can be native to America or native to the Americas. But you can't be a Native American because "Native American" is a legal definition. Native American defines a specific group of people. Native American identifies, the citizens of federally recognized tribes, within the borders of the United States. read more
