I'm aware that you can numb it but my piercer didn't. This was done a few months ago. I remember feeling a sharp scratching pain and blood dripping everywhere. On a pain scale of 1 to 10 a tongue piercing is about a 5. It's over quickly but you can't eat a lot for a few days afterwards. It's the healing time that's the most annoying. read more
