There is nothing about microgravity that would prevent conception. It does not matter what position a woman is in, or which way gravity is pulling (or not) the sperm will find their way to where they need to go. read more

A woman has yet to give birth on a shuttle or in the Space Station nor has a pregnant woman even traveled in space. However, a few studies have sent pregnant rats into space so the development of the (Earth-born) babies could be investigated. read more

Of course, a woman and her partner need to be able to actually have sex in space in order to for those cells to get together in the first place. Additionally, both she and her partner must be fertile. Cycles in fertility can be checked, and the mom and dad could then choose the right time to make that space baby. read more
