From what I can tell, some music from the 90s is considered classic now, although these are often bands and performers whose careers started much earlier. The whole back catalogue of Crowded House is considered classic, even though much of it came from the 90s. read more

Keep in mind that when the "classic rock" moniker first became popular in the early '90s, it was used to describe music up through the mid-1980s. If "classic" merely refers to age, then by that measure all of the 1990s can now be considered part of the "classic" era. read more
