Assisted suicide is currently illegal throughout Australia with the exception of Victoria where the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2017 (Victoria) was passed on 29 November 2017. It was legal in the Northern Territory for a short time under the Rights of the Terminally Ill Act 1995. read more
On 5/1/12, Gov. Nathan Deal signed a new law prohibiting assisted suicide in GA, replacing a 1994 law that had been found unconstitutional. In a 2/6/12 opinion, the GA Supreme Court overturned t his 1994 law. read more
