Is Baltimore considered in the North or the South?

When I was growing up in Baltimore County in the 1960s and early 1970s the white people had mostly Southern attitudes, I'm afraid. But I moved away in 1973 and things do seem to be somewhat different today when I visit. read more

While the "South" refers to a specific group of states, the "North" does not do so in any meaningful way. However, Baltimore, as well as Washington D.C., and even parts of northern Virginia, are geograhically and culturally in the Northeast. read more
