An engineering major with a biomedical engineering minor is a good idea. The major could be computer engineering, mechanical engineering (an excellent choice, by the way) or electrical engineering. Even chemical engineering. There’re overlapping courses in each of these fields - computer engineering vs computer science, for example. read more

Most biomed companies would more likely hire CEs than BMEs out of undergrad because they can get to the actual engineering faster (easier to teach intro bio than half of engineering). So in this case, this is the 'safer bet'. read more
