Not at all dangerous. Crime is virtually unknown. You can safely forget your purse or cell phone somewhere and be sure to find it several hours after. Certainly if you forward into the jungle or if you dive deeper into the forest, you could meet some risk dependent on insects or other diseases. read more

Borneo is generally very safe for travellers of both sexes, but in villages and logging camps things can get dodgy when alcohol enters the picture. Saltwater crocodiles are a very real danger in waterways, especially in muddy estuaries. Exercise caution when swimming in rivers, and never swim near river mouths. read more

Major cities in Peru have very nice areas, as well as places a tourist should not enter, as occurs in New York, London and most major cities. Don't try to get so Indiana Jones in here and you'll have an amazing experience.
