To be a developed country you need to have a highly diversified economy. 80–90 % of Brunei economy is dependent on oil. So it is not a developed country nor a diversified economy. Furthermore, 80% of employee are civil servant, that is such an extremely ridiculous figure. read more

Anyway, Brunei is not a developed country. It's still developing and sadly pretty slow due to many factors including it's small population which pales in comparison to it's more dynamic neighbours.
