Dental hygiene school is a moderately difficult program, but if you are dedicated to your studies and keep your eye on the goal (a great career!) you will be successful. Your professors want to help you succeed. Utilize them; they have been in your shows. They are there to help you as long as you are doing everything you can to also help yourself succeed. read more

Others may remember the wonderful times, friends they made, and the joy of hard work turning into success. For me, it's a combination of all of the above. Right now, I am studying oral microbiology, dental radiography, histology & embryology, dental hygiene theory, and clinic which is the practical part of theory where you work on patients. If you're not a fan of science, you're not going to like dental hygiene because nearly every class is science. Dental radiography deals with a lot of physics, so all of the information you learned in chemistry about alpha rays, and such will come back. read more

Hygiene school, especially at IUSD, is very rigorous and extremely demanding. I should know, I graduated from there with my ASDH in 1999. It's the best program in the state, but if you're looking for hand-holding and back-patting, this is not the program for you. read more
