HIV is treatable. Ebola is much more infectious. Ebola is generally geographically contained when there is an outbreak. For the world at large, HIV is worse than Ebola (HIV is worse as its total fatalities are higher). HIV can only be transmitted through blood or breast milk, or via sexual intercourse, according to the CDC. Ebola is slightly easier to spread, but is still much less transmissible than more common infections like the flu. read more
