The English spoken by most Croatian puts mine to shame and I would suggest anyone under 40 in the Adriatic area will speak English - helped by the fact that they use subtitles on TV rather than dubbing so they hear a heck of a lot of (American) English. read more

It is very widely spoken. A study made back in 2006, the results of which are still published on this Wikipedia list, reported that 49% of the population spoke English (as a second language). That was over ten years ago. read more
