The great thing about pre-med is that there is no perfect major. Ideally, you can do any major as long as you complete the science prerequisites for medical school, and maintain a strong GPA. Many pre-med students do choose STEM-based majors, which can be useful in preparing them for the demands of medical school. read more
In any case, "pre-med" is not a major. If you wanted to go to med school, you could major in just about any field as long as you complete the pre-med requirements (usually 2 semesters each of general biology, general and organic chemistry, calculus, and general physics). read more
The best major for getting into a good MPH program: Anything that you know you will do well in. You also don't need an honors thesis. In fact, the best way to get into a good program (JHU, Harvard, etc) is to volunteer during college and take a couple years off to get some experience. read more
