No, the movie was the 'definitive' version, it wasn't any other medium beforehand. Marvel published an adaption / tie in miniseries afterwards though. read more
Hancock currently resides in New York where he appears to be successfully carrying out his duties as a superhero. In the mid-credits scene a criminal is on the loose, and when he takes a hostage, Hancock shows up. read more
Though he isn’t technically based on any comic character in particular, he has a similar story to the Marvel Comics’ character Sentry, who not only has a similar power set to that of Hancock (plus a whole lot more), but is also struggling with not being able to remember his past. read more
