Is Hawaii considered a state, a peninsula or an island?

Hawaii is a collection of islands. Therefore it's not a peninsula. An island cannot be a peninsula. Of course, islands can contain smaller peninsulas, but the whole of Hawaii is a bunch of islands, so you can't say that Hawaii is "a peninsula". It's also a state of the USA. Hawaii is an island (the largest one) in a chain of islands known as the hawaiian islands, formerly the sandwich islands. The group of islands, also collectively joined the united states back in 1959. hawaii is not a peninsula at all, but part of the islands do contain them. read more
