Is industrial engineering a good major?

Other engineers say IE stands for Imaginary Engineering. Industrial engineers say it's for Instant Employment. Engineers design things. Industrial engineers design ways to do things. I don't think there is a more versatile major than IE. They are in demand by nearly every industry for countless functions, right out of undergrad. read more

The short answer is, that Yes, Industrial Engineering is a good major. The real answer depends on what you want to do. If you want to get into Business, an IE degree will translate better to management roles than many other typical engineering degrees, but do not make the mistake of assuming that you will actually be learning or doing typical “business” subjects as an IE major. read more
