Vc is the top of the green arc on the airspeed indicator (better known as VNO or the normal operating speed). Airplane certification is based on the theory that an airframe can survive powerful gusts while flying at any airspeed within the green arc. In fact since speed has no relation to wing loading, I would think that it would be much better to fly faster so as to leave the turbulent patch quicker. read more
