If you want to go into business and undergraduate degree in economics is not good enough. Accounting is better. Much better. Economics is Theory, philosophy, and mathematical analysis and prediction, and policy. It's academia. There is very little practical training for economists other than how to conduct research and experiments. read more
From what I can tell there is a lot more call in the job market for people who have accounting degrees versus those with economics degrees. This is true in both public and private sectors. Now, if your career goal is advising on economic matters or in teaching economics, get an economics degree. read more
Accounting requires a lot of specific job skills, and these skills simply aren’t taught in other majors (like economics). You probably want to at least pick up an associate’s degree in accounting. You also might consider a bachelor’s or master’s degree if you want to open up even more career opportunities. read more
