One of my colleague used to do it. Our company had office in HK and Shenzhen both. He was hired for HK but by the time he joines, the project moved to Shenzhen. He chose to stay in HK because of his kid's education and Indian community in HK. Life is easier in HK. read more

If your employer is registered in Hong Kong, and you actually work in Hong Kong, you will not be able to get a work visa (meaning Employment Permit and Residence Permit) in China. Therefore you will not have a long term lease in Shenzhen as the police station would need to verify your Residence Permit when leasing the property. read more

If I were to get this in Hong Kong, well it depends on which district, but if in on Hong Kong island it would be at least $4,000 US dollars per month. In the outskirts of Hong Kong I could maybe get it as low as $2,500 US dollars, but have as long of a commute to downtown Hong Kong as I do now from Shenzhen. read more
