Using too high an absorbency can be uncomfortable and increase the risk of developing Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), especially if using rayon tampons. As well as menstrual blood around 35% of what tampons absorb is natural vaginal moisture (discharge), which is required to keep the mucus membranes of the vaginal walls from becoming damaged. read more
