If you play Country music, you are better off with learning a 5-string banjo as this is the type of banjo that is mostly used in Country music. If you play jazz music (Dixieland, Ragtime, or Traditional Jazz of the 1920s & 30s), then you definitely want a 4-string banjo. read more
