Is it easier to meet women in Oakland than in San Francisco?

I've spent a fair amount of time in the greater downtown Oakland bar scene and lots of time in various SF bar scenes. Oakland wins hands down. read more

I think the big problem for some people with the Oakland scene would be the types of people you're likely to meet. I feel like a lot of guys who want to "meet women" really want to meet the stereotypical Marina-type. Not much of that in Oakland. Census data show there are more single men than single women under 65 (though in San Francisco that doesn't necessarily mean single men who want to meet women). And according to a Facebook study of its users conducted last fall, San Francisco rates highest among major American cities on the ratio of single men to single women. read more
