To me, vim is best without too many customizations since it allows me to easily use vi and vim on other computers as well as lets others use vim on my user account on my computers. Also, if you like Dvorak and have an Android device, I recommend AnySoftKeyboard with the Alternative English Layouts expansion pack which adds Dvorak (and Colemak, but I don't use Colemak). read more
