Both and either and neither. Engineering has many branches and math, for undergraduates, has at least two major branches: applied and pure. read more
One major being harder than another is completely subjective. I have knowledge of and a passion for math. For me, a math degree is easier, because when I have to study or do homework I make time for it. I like to practice it and read about it. For other’s an engineering degree is easier for them. There could be a number of reasons why. read more
Engineering has so many requirements that you will have a full schedule of engineering classes just to complete the major. Math on the other hand does not get hard until you get to upper-level classes (analysis, algebra and beyond), and most math majors only require a couple of those abstract classes. That is to say, it is easier to bs your way through a math major than an engineering major. read more
Between mathematics and physics, I'd say physics is harder. In the end, you may end up knowing as much mathematics as any math major. Math is harder in the beginning, when in physics you do only baby-problems in mechanics and elektricity, you have to tackle some difficult & rigorous courses. read more
