By the time volcanoes were erupted and the lava from it has reached ocean surface, most of the aerosols and toxic gases in it would have escaped into the atmosphere and it's primarily the molten rocks in lava form that reaches ocean. But still this almost gaseous-free lava is not free from further pollution. read more
