If you did find a moon core sized lump of gold and sold a few tons it would just depress the price of gold rather than making some amazing new technology affordable. A platinum moon core would be far more useful. Diamond has a density of 3.5 grams per c.c. so the moon could have a diamond core and not betray that fact by it's average density. read more
