Is it safe to microwave sheets of paper?

I have used the both the microwave and the oven to dry paper that I have soaked in tea…I make Primitive type crafts, so I often need things to look old, and tea staining is the best way. read more

As , long as the microwave has some food or drink as well as the paper towel, it is perfectly safe to use a paper towel to catch splattering food. But paper on its own (towels or otherwise) will catch fire and can also destroy the microwave. read more

1. I put a half sheet of plain paper (ordinary copy paper from Staples) into my microwave and set the machine for 65 seconds at the highest power. It was barely warm at the end of 65 seconds. 2.
