Juvenile justice act should have been amended a long time ago. In between the release of juvenile rapist, there have been 1 or 2 cases and they were as outrageous and appalling as any other. Moreover, how can we be so helpless now, when the whole nation was on the edge when this case happened. read more

It replaced the Indian juvenile delinquency law, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, and allows for juveniles in conflict with Law in the age group of 16–18, involved in Heinous Offences, to be tried as adults. The Act came into force from 15 January 2016. read more

The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill 2015 has been passed by the Rajya Sabha today. It was introduced in Parliament last year after public outrage because one of the offenders in the 2012 gang rape case was a few months short of 18 years of age. read more
