Elvis Presley’s greatgrandparents. His father, Vernon Elvis Presley was of Scottish ancestry, the shipping records give the family surname as Pressley. Another family bloodline traced a Jewish ancestor fighting for the Confederate Army but deserted. I have not heard or read of Elvis possessing any Turkic ancestry, but anything is possible. read more

However once Elvis (in 1956) became the greatest album, and 45 single, recording artist of all time he was dubbed "the king of rock and roll". NOTES--Elvis' death, a subject of some controversy, has been officially attributed to heart failure, a likely result of Presley's chronic overuse of prescription barbiturates. Presley is buried at his mansion, Graceland, which continues to attract fans and is a major tourist site in Memphis. read more
