Is Lima, Peru, a dangerous city?

thought of spending two weeks in lima (been to peru many many years ago saw most of the famous sights) just want to stay in lima--if i remember the city had fabulous sights churches museiums etc. read more

Lima is a great city to visit, but as was stated by other travellers there is a LOT to see in Peru - most an hour or two by air. There are also a lot of comments about Lima being dangerous. Quite honestly, after living here for a year and visiting tor years, I find most major US cities more dangerous. The key is don't make yourself a target. read more

Every big city has its dangers. Said that, I think one of the dangers of Lima city is the traffic and the drivers, there are many car accidents and dead people because of this. As for the crime, well, there are places more dangerous than others, but is not as easy as to say this place is dangerous this is safe. read more
