Is logic a creation of man or does it exist apart from man?

I'm going to take "man" here to mean "sentient minds," as it's possible that there are aliens with similar logical frameworks to ours. So the question is whether or not minds invented logic or if, somehow, logic is part of the fabric of the universe (aside from minds).
