Is mexico part of nato?

Mexico wasn't a founding member of NATO because, at the time NATO was formed, Mexico was strongly inclined towards isolationism and neutralism. Part of this had to do with Mexican resentment of the United States, but I suspect that an equally important element was Mexico's disinterest in taking sides in the Cold War. read more

This idea that North Atlantic, means that Mexico isn't a part of North America, is ridiculous. Turkey and Greece are NATO members, and has been for a long time and they're no where near the North Atlantic coast line. Where as Mexico is an Atlantic ocean nation, and is very close to major U.S Naval Bases. read more
