Best Answer: I have heard of everything from Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas,Arkansas referred to as the Midwest, but St. Louis is the gateway to the west. You can't really be in the west until you are west of St. Louis., But they can't call Michigan and Ohio the Middle east, somebody already took that. read more
