Nope. If it were, the plane of the galaxy would be more or less aligned with the plane of the ecliptic, so the Milky Way would follow the path of the constellations in the Zodiac, and we'd see it stretched out across the same path the Sun and the planets take through the sky. read more
The CMB dipole data shows us the motion of the COBE satellite relative to the CMB, but it tells us nothing about our motion around the Galaxy or the motion of the Galaxy through the CMB. We can combine the CMB data with other measurements of our rotation to then infer what the speed of the Milky Way is relative to the CMB. read more
