Is Perth better than Sydney?

My goodness, how is it possible to answer that? I've lived in both places …..many years ago, and spent time in both places recently. I live in the Eastern half of Australia, about 100km (60 miles) from the coast. About 80% of the population of Australia live on the East. read more

Perth is closer to Jakarta than it is to Sydney or Canberra. From Perth, if you want to go somewhere for a few days, you're probably going to go to Bali. Not only is it closer than Sydney, there's also no time zone difference (versus two or three hours to Sydney). read more

Perth is much more remote than Sydney is with Sydney having much better access to other cities than Perth. I have heard people in Perth actually go overseas to go on holiday because places like Bali in Indonesia are closer than Sydney is. The weather is different between the two places as well. Sydney is a more humid place I think than Perth. read more
