I've lived in Queens for the majority of my life, so I can confidently say most of it is. Some areas are rougher than others due to high traffic, and some are more isolated and can be unsafe in that sense. Some are filled with nightlife and the common pains that drunk people bring. read more

Queens is like every other place with places considered "safe" and "sketchy". Areas of Queens people often find alarming are South Jamaica, Hollis, and the Queensbridge part of Long Island City. Desirable places in Queens tend to be in Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica Estates, Astoria, and Long Island City (minus the Queensbridge area). read more
