Is silk mentioned and/or used in the Ramayana or Mahabharata?

In The Rajasuya, it is described that silk from China was brought as a tribute to Yudhishtra. In many places silk is described. 4500 years before Mahabharatham, in Ramayanam also Kausalya wore silk. White silk. Ravana was wearing silk, you'll see that in Sundara Kandam. Seetha was wearing yellow silk in the forest. read more

Chariots (Rathas) are not mentioned only in Ramayana and Mahabharata. They are mentioned in the rigveda also and later Puranic texts. The Rigveda has several suktas that inform about the rathas. They talk about the material from which the Chariots are made of. (from a wood called shalmali ) Also, we cannot know the exact form of vedic rathas. read more
