Absolutely. There were a lot of kid-focused episodes in the first season but towards the 4th and 5th seasons the topics became darker and more mature. read more
Star Wars: The Clone Wars, despite being a kids’ show that aired Fridays/Saturdays on Cartoon Network, was a show that explored themes of slavery, Machiavellian politics, mind control, and the detriments of war. Just because The Clone Wars’ main demographic was children, doesn’t mean that it’s only for children. read more
It started with the Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie which was theatrically released in 2008. It is still part of the official Star Wars canon and many of its original characters (e.g. Ahsoka, Rex, Hondo) are featured in Star Wars: Rebels.
