I was safe. I stayed at a hotel. The rest of Orlando was safe but, some had flooding and still don't have power. The effects here weren't bad. Mostly some uprooted trees and limbs everywhere. read more

There is no city in Florida that is “safe” from hurricanes. Orlando was hit in 2004 by 3, including Charlie which seemed to cause much more damage than Irma did in this area. However, being a good 60 or so miles from the nearest coastline, Orlando is protected from storm surge which is the biggest threat hurricanes pose to life and property. read more
