Is the Edinburgh accent posh?

Not really. Only certain parts of Edinburgh have posh accents like the Morningside accent but to be honest, I'm not sure thats still true in todays world. Leith is part of Edinburgh and I wouldn't say that accent is particularly posh, or those from other bits of Edinburgh like Pilton, Gorgie or Niddrie. read more

Edinburgh uni did terrible things to my accent though because of having to speak to be understood by the English and international folks. I don't know where they hide all the Scottish students because it never felt like there was many. read more
