The Fertile Crescent is a cradle of civilisation. For European and Middle Eastern peoples, it was the cradle of our civilisations. The East Asians, Sub-Saharan Africans, and Native Americans don't owe it much. Their civilisations would have done a lot better if they'd never met us.
