The Hebrew word is definitely related to the Arabic word, because both are Semitic. There are related words in other Semitic languages, like Aramaic. The English word has cognates in Welsh and Greek. Welsh probably didn’t have any contact with Semitic languages (although ancient Celtic languages possibly did have it). read more
