Is there a difference between ballroom salsa and street salsa?

As a 'street salsa dancer' there is a big difference. I don't consider ballroom Salsa true Salsa. They have included steps and styles that are not used in traditional Salsa, Salsa means sauce and true Salsa is a mix of big band, African and traditional Spanish dances, a true tropical mix. read more

* Differences in 'culture': There might be cultural differences between Latin American and 'North American/Euro' cultures that underlie the difference.
